fundraising

East Herts Hospital Radio is a voluntary organisation which is totaly self funded.

As with any other voluntary organisation, EHHR needs to raise sufficient funds to ensure that we can sustain our service. Some income is generated from membership fees, but we rely on fundraising to cover the normal running costs to keep the station on a day-to-day basis, including

  • records
  • the phone bill
  • broadcast licences
  • insurance
  • replacing or updating equipment

  • We also undertake fundraising activities for specific projects (such as our second studio when we were still in Hertford).

"Tin rattles" outside supermakets are a valuble fundraising source, and we are grateful to the many supermarkets who have allowed us to work outside their shops. This also gives us a great chance to meet some of the public who may have heard us when they were patients.

One of our popular fundraising events is our Quiz Night, where teams of local companies and other hospital radio groups get together to have a fun evening raising money for us.

We are registered with the Charities Commission and all funds raised go directly to sustaining EHHR through the purchase of new records and equipment. We receive no financial support from the Hospital Trust.
